Have you ever had one of those moments where your life feels like it could only happen in a movie? Like, if someone pitched it to Netflix, they\u2019d go, \u201cNah, too unbelievable \u2014 even for us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yeah, that\u2019s basically my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let me ask you this \u2014 have you ever loved someone so much that you\u2019d drive hours every weekend just to sit across face to face at a cold table ? Have you ever sat across from your husband in a visitation room thinking, \u201cHow is this my love story?\u201d Because that\u2019s me, every weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Except for one weekend a month \u2014 that\u2019s when his parents visit, and I get to rest from prison vending machine cuisine. Those weekends off? My version of self-care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen recently got transferred to a new prison, and hallelujah, it\u2019s closer to L.A. \u2014 which means I don\u2019t have to drive through half the state just to hold his hand for few hours. He was in Monterey County for almost a year, but his health started declining, so they moved him. He\u2019s had a rough year \u2014 a stroke last December, heart disease, kidney disease, and just last month his kidney function dropped to 28%. That\u2019s stage 4 kidney failure \u2014 the \u201cstart planning for dialysis\u201d stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now here\u2019s the good news \u2014 he loves<\/em> the new place. He says the food\u2019s better, the people are nicer, and the medical staff actually act like they\u2019ve met a doctor before. And selfishly, it\u2019s a huge blessing for me and his parents because the drive is so much shorter. Praise Jesus and Google Maps!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The even better news? His health has started improving. The doctors are saying his kidneys are functioning better, he\u2019s losing weight, and get this \u2014 he doesn\u2019t have diabetes anymore! Y\u2019all, I don\u2019t know what kind of keto miracle is happening in that prison, but my man is coming out hotter than when he went in. He just needs to lose eight more pounds and he\u2019ll officially be out of the \u201cobese\u201d category. I told him, \u201cSee? Prison\u2019s not all bad \u2014 you\u2019re getting a glow-up and free meals!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But here\u2019s the thing about prison \u2014 every time he moves to a new yard, it\u2019s nerve-wracking. You don\u2019t know who you\u2019re going to meet, and not everyone is exactly\u2026 gentle. And let\u2019s be real, Stephen is not your typical inmate. He\u2019s this nerdy, a guy with glasses, a belly, and zero fighting skills. If a fight broke out, his best move would be to hide behind the Bible or pretend to faint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So he gets to his new yard, trying to keep to himself, when one of the porters (that\u2019s prison talk for the guy who helps new inmates settle in) notices a photo Stephen brought with him. The porter takes one look and says, \u201cWow, lucky you \u2014 you took a picture with Christy Love! She\u2019s my favorite pornstar!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen freezes. He doesn\u2019t know if this guy is dangerous or just\u2026 loyal. So he plays it cool, like, \u201cOh yeah, I met her.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The porter keeps going on, talking about how much he watches Christy Love, how he has all<\/em>her videos downloaded on his tablet, and how even his cousin is a fan. He\u2019s basically listing my IMDb page. At this point, Stephen\u2019s probably thinking, \u201cDo I tell him the truth or just let him keep fanboying?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eventually, he feels like the guy\u2019s not a threat \u2014 just a dedicated follower of my work.<\/em> So Stephen smiles and says, \u201cActually, I know Christy Love very well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guy laughs, like, \u201cSure, bro. Everyone says that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then Stephen holds out his prison ID card and goes, \u201cDo you know her real name?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guy proudly yells, \u201cOf course! Angela Dela Cruz!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen smirks and says, \u201cThen you probably know mine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The porter reads the name: Stephen Dela Cruz.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silence. Then \u2014 BOOM.<\/em> Mind blown. The guy\u2019s face lights up like it\u2019s Christmas in Cell Block C. \u201cBro, you\u2019re her husband?!? Can I get an autograph?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the end of the conversation, this man who could\u2019ve been a potential threat is now doing Stephen\u2019s laundry.<\/em> He\u2019s like the president of the Christy Love Fan Club: Inmate Division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And just like that, my fame became my husband\u2019s protection plan. While other men are trying to watch their backs, Stephen\u2019s out here being treated like royalty. Forget gang affiliations \u2014 he\u2019s got fan affiliations.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honestly, I couldn\u2019t stop laughing when he told me this story. Like, of all the ways God could\u2019ve protected him, He chose this one. I mean, you can\u2019t make this stuff up. My career in adult entertainment somehow turned into divine prison favor. Who knew my greatest ministry would be through Wi-Fi tablets and male inmates?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And before you clutch your pearls \u2014 yes, I see the humor, and yes, I see the irony. Because isn\u2019t it just like God to take something the world tries to shame you for and flip it into something that saves the people you love?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I cried when Stephen first told me he was scared to move yards. Now I cry from laughing at the fact that the same men who might\u2019ve tried to mess with him are now folding his underwear like, \u201cMr. Dela Cruz, sir, your wife\u2019s latest blog was fire.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s crazy, isn\u2019t it? How life can be both tragic and hilarious all at once. One minute you\u2019re worried sick about your husband\u2019s health, the next minute you\u2019re thanking Jesus for fanboys in prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s the emotional rollercoaster of my life \u2014 faith, fear, comedy, chaos, and a little bit of holy irony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now here\u2019s where it gets hilarious \u2014 and holy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The porter starts telling everyone, and soon enough, it spreads like prison wildfire. Word gets around that Christy Love\u2019s husband is in the building.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One day, as the porter\u2019s bragging, this one Black guy who\u2019s Muslim overhears and goes, \u201cWho\u2019s Christy Love?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before Stephen can answer, his friend jumps in like he\u2019s offended. \u201cYou don\u2019t know Christy Love?! Bro, she\u2019s the pastor-pornstar! And her husband \u2014 this guy \u2014 he\u2019s a pastor too!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now three Muslim guys are standing there, totally intrigued. They look at Stephen and say, \u201cWait, you\u2019re a pastor?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen says, \u201cYeah.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of them goes, \u201cWell, I\u2019m Muslim, but I\u2019d be down to hear about your Jesus. I\u2019m not trying to be baptized or nothing, but I\u2019ll listen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen laughs and says, \u201cAlright, how about a Bible study one of these days?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And they agree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who would\u2019ve thought \u2014 out of all the places, all the people \u2014 that a group of Muslim inmates would want to hear about Jesus because of a pornstar preacher\u2019s wife?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like, what?! You can\u2019t make this up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When he told me this story, I laughed so hard I nearly cried. Because of course \u2014 of course<\/em>that\u2019s how God would work in my life. The same career that most people think would disqualify<\/em> me from ministry became the reason people behind bars are hearing about Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s the kind of God I serve. He\u2019s not limited by people\u2019s opinions or religious boxes. He\u2019ll use a pornstar, a prison, and a pastor\u2019s love story to reach people who\u2019d never step foot in a church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen said those guys were respectful, curious, and real. They didn\u2019t want judgment \u2014 they wanted truth. And because he\u2019s my husband, and because of who I am,<\/em> they were willing to listen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So yeah, maybe I\u2019m not your typical pastor\u2019s wife. I don\u2019t bake casseroles or host women\u2019s prayer brunches. My life looks more like The Real Housewives of Redemption,<\/em> but somehow, God keeps turning my mess into ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And honestly, I love that. Because if there\u2019s one thing I\u2019ve learned, it\u2019s that God doesn\u2019t need perfect people \u2014 He just needs willing ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You might think your story disqualifies you, but it\u2019s probably the very thing someone else needs to hear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who would\u2019ve thought that my husband, sitting in prison, would start a Bible study because his wife is on Pornhub? Yet here we are \u2014 God using every twist, every turn, every headline for His glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, the next time someone tries to tell you God can\u2019t use you because of your mess, just smile and say, \u201cHoney, He used a pornstar to start a prison revival.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
