A pastor recently asked me a direct and honest question. I appreciate questions like this because they come from a desire to understand, not to accuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Question:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou are saying, if I am hearing you correctly, people have to do their sin, they cannot stop even if they wanted, because they are slaves to it according to our nature. That they have no free will to change because it is who they are. Am I getting it?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My Response:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you for your honesty and your heart to understand. You do not need to apologize. I truly respect that you are asking questions most people are too afraid to ask out loud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let me be very clear. I do not believe anyone is forced to sin. I do not believe people are robots with no ability to choose. What I do believe, and what Scripture teaches, is that every human being is born into a fallen nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Romans 3:23 says, \u201cFor all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.\u201d That means every one of us misses the mark. Pastors. Pornstars. Church members. Leaders. Lurkers. The difference is not what we do. The difference is what we believe about what Jesus already did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grace is not pretending sin does not exist. Grace is understanding that sin no longer gets to define who you are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Romans 6:14 says, \u201cSin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.\u201d When you live under grace, your past does not become your identity. Jesus does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do not walk in shame for what I do. I walk in awareness that even in the middle of it, His grace is greater. Romans 5:20 reminds us, \u201cWhere sin increased, grace abounded much more.\u201d That verse is not permission to live recklessly. It is proof that God\u2019s love is stronger than human failure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People love to rank sin, but Scripture does not play that game. James 2:10 says that whoever breaks one part of the law is guilty of all of it. Lying, lusting, judging, gossiping. Same fallen nature. The only difference is that some sins are more socially acceptable than others. I am simply honest about mine, and honesty creates space for grace to do what grace does best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am not here to defend myself. I am here to glorify Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do not preach perfection. I preach a Person. The same Jesus who sat with prostitutes and tax collectors is the same Jesus sitting with me today. He is not intimidated by the industry I work in. He is Lord over it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So no, I am not a slave to sin. I am a servant of grace. And grace is not an idea or a loophole. Grace is a Person named Jesus Christ. He is the reason I can stand bold, unashamed, and fully loved. Not because I got it right, but because He finished it all at the cross, just like He said in John 19:30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do not justify my lifestyle. I magnify His grace. Because if grace is not big enough for me, it is not big enough for anyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
